Copernicus was a multifaceted man of great talent in many disciplines. Aside from his great contribution to astronomical theory, he also devised the mathematical system of trigonometry. A humanitarian, Copernicus used rooms in his home to treat the sick and wounded. He bandaged their arms and administered medicine to them.
