Ana Linden’s stories are honest, refreshing, even brutal at times. The author tackles some controversial subjects, but she somehow manages to uncover the depth of individual drama so naturally, that the reader cannot ignore the characters’ complexity. Their imperfections make them relatable, they feel real, raw and fascinating. Physical appearance doesn’t factor in too much, the characters are sketched by their behaviour, background, thoughts and actions, and I found this to be delightful. A deep yet delectable read, Albatross does make the reader think twice about values and humanity.
