About C.C. Chamberlane

I am new to the true crime writers scene and would describe myself more a story teller than a writer or author. I find the genre extremely interesting ever since I first read Joseph Wambaugh's The Onion Field as a kid. Although The Onion Field was non-fiction I believe all his other books including Choirboys, The New Centurions, The Blue Knight and others were all fiction. I refer to them as fact-influenced fiction due to his time spent as an LAPD Detective.

A really good first book. I thought the timeline at the beginning was a little quirky. It seemed like it was all over the place as Meg was telling about her friends, the need to kill her boyfriend, her grandfather and sniper rifles, and shopping for a party.

Also, it was mentioned that only 10% of serial killers were women. Later, it said 12% and then a few pages further, it was 14%.

Otherwise, it was a great book.

This book has been a great read so far and it had me immersed in the story within the first couple of chapters. What a great new author! I love the fact influence within the storyline and the author definitely takes you there. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Megan, to a certain degree or wish, within most women in those situations. Her ability to pull from her core of mental and physical strength without regret is astonishing. I'm nearing the end and hope there will be another excellent read from CC Chamberlane.

I read a lot of true crime and have every Patterson book. My husband found this new author and read it on his kindle. He passed it along to me when he was done and I was hooked by the second chapter. I like the action genre and it was great to read about a powerful, kick butt and take no prisoners, woman. Can't wait to read the next one from Chamberlane.

IT was difficult to tell this was his first book. I enjoyed the fact that Meg was a strong women, both physically and mentally. You could also tell the author loves motorcycles especially Harley Davidson. I liked all the facts that went with the storyline. Not sure how many ways there are to kill a person but CCC sure had many of them in the book. Cannot wait to find out in the next book how Meg moves on and her relationship with the FBI guy.
