About J.D. Dexter

Growing up in Kansas is about as exciting as it sounds. We have great sunsets, bad allergies, and too many tornadoes. J.D. Dexter hated high school to such a degree that she started taking college classes while still in high school (back when that was the exception instead of the norm). She started taking massage classes at the age of sixteen. Since then, healing has been her passion.

After graduating high school, she went to a professional massage school program in Denver, CO and has been practicing ever since. While working on people, she realized that trauma and other mental health issues were creeping up in her sessions. Feeling overwhelmed with the stories that her clients were sharing, she decided to get some education to better work with these people. Thus began her long, circuitous route to a bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Psychology, and another Master's degree in Social Work. She specializes in working with sexual assault survivors, combat PTSD sufferers, couples who have experience with trauma, and teaching other professionals about the healing benefits of touch in conjunction with mental health therapy.

When she's not busy writing her next book in the Ankarrah Chronicles, she's running two businesses, helping her dad learn how to use the computer, finding delicious Keto Diet recipes, and playing with Photoshop. She also tries to find time to spend time with the world's cutest nieces and nephew in between all of those things.
