About Rick Bylina

Rick Bylina lives with his wife, Carrie, and their 20-year-old cockatiel, Sydney, near Apex, North Carolina. Ongoing corporate downsizing convinced him to tap into his passion. He scribbled down any crazy idea that crossed his mind. After gaining discipline, he wrote his debut mystery novel, "One Promise Too Many", the first in a series featuring Detective Roger Stark. Writing happens spontaneously between housework, gardening, cooking, fishing, and wrestling alligators.

Review by: Shelia Rudesill on March 27, 2012 :
Everyone is suspect in this labyrinth of highly developed characters and intriguing plot manifestation. I fell in love with Faith immediately and felt her anguish until the very end. The author must have served on a church council to be able to describe the often hidden conflicts between parishioners with money and status, the clergy, and the innocent congregation. A MATTER OF FAITH is stunning. Shelia Bolt Rudesill, author of Baggage and Transmutare

When Faith Moreno’s father dies, her tidy worry-free world begins to crumbles. Family secrets surface, someone harasses her for being part Mexican and her job is in jeopardy. Into her life comes Father Pat the local parish priest, a boy she had a crush on while in high school, and all the old feelings return. Detective Richard Stark investigates the possibility that her father’s death was not an accident, but murder. A MATTER OF FAITH is the second book in the Detective Stark Mystery series and a must read for mystery fans.
