About Prudence MacLeod

I live on a small island just off a larger island off the coast of North America where I write romance, sci-fi, and fantasy/adventure for a wider audience.

What's my super power? I'm a storyteller, an entertainer. As you begin to read my words the stress of the day, nay, the stress of everyday, begins to magically fade away. Transported into another world, your worries and troubles are forgotten for a time as you share adventures with me and my friends. My art, my power is as old as humankind, for the magic of the storyteller has ever been with us and it will always be.

Okay, I'll confess, I've been busted. I was accused of once being a life coach and hiding some of those techniques in my books, disguised as adventure.
Guilty as charged. sigh.
I was also accused of lightly touching on a number of taboo subjects in my books, trying to shine a different light on things.
Guilty as charged again.
As a result of these transgressions, I have been labeled an underground writer.
Oh the shame of it all. (Hangs head and moves slowly towards penalty box.)

I am a spiritual seeker, dog trainer, official Reiki Master and Interior designer, who has turned her hand to writing. I am also an avid chess player, not a great one, but an avid one. I bake, I build, I knit, and I tell great stories.

I have roamed far and wide for over sixty years in this realm, and I have seen much; some I wish I had not, and a great deal that I would love to see again. Some days I feel like Bilbo Baggins, for I have been there and come back again.

No, I haven't written a book about my wanderings, at least not yet, but much I have experienced, observed, learned, surmised, or imagined, is woven into the tales I have written.

Folks, if you take the time to write a review for me, please leave me a way to contact you so I can thank you properly. If you prefer to remain anonymous, then let me thank you right now. Thanks!!

This just took the spot of my favorite book! It's such a lovely story, made more touching by the similarities to my own story. I think I could loose myself forever in Prudence's novels. The characters have so much personality and optimism that it is impossible not to love them. I've come to the conclusion that Prudence's books offer a lot better instruction in how to live a good life than the bible could ever hope to compete with. I guess that means she has just been elevated to Godhood;-)

I was so excited to see a new story after I finished the last of your other novels. I was definitely not disappointed. This book was so wonderfully written, I felt like I was actually part of the story. Grandma Elsie was absolutely perfect. She is the icon everyone wishes for a grandmother, who accepts who you are even when she strongly disagrees with your decisions. I really got a good laugh when reading about gap-toothed Bob, as I think he moved over to our neck of the woods. I wish I would have broken the reading up a bit so I still had more to read, but you have a habit of making that very hard. Thank you so very much for another amazing story!

PS. Now hurry and crank out another one!
