Northern Cowboy by S. Willett
Series: Mitchell Lavender Series – Book 1
Genre: YA Adventure, Suspense

First Sentence: Have you ever wanted something so bad you could almost see dust fly as the horse galloped by, hear the clanging metal from the chutes, and smell the barbequed chicken?

Review:
Mitchell Lavender, a high school sophomore, likes his hair short, has a deep appreciation for journalism and girls, and has never forgotten how much fun he had on his one and only day at the rodeo.

Then his big chance to experience all of his favorites happens with an assignment to write two articles about the upcoming rodeo event.
The only way the cowboys will share any information for Mitchell’s article is if he experiences it himself – as in learns the ropes with real ropes, horses, and bulls. Oh, and bullies, too.

S. Willett sees through the eyes of a fifteen-year-old boy, eager to prove himself. Mitchell’s been thrown into the deep end of the pool so to speak, making him learn how to stay afloat when he doesn’t know the first thing about swimming – only, this is all about getting thrown into the world of cowboys, horses, bulls, riding, roping, and danger. Yep, danger.

Mitchell needs to buck-up in order to fit in and nothing about it comes easy…especially the girls.

Excellent start of this series, I can’t wait to read what Mitchell will face with his next article. Whatever it is, I’m sure there will be danger…and girls.
