About Liz Jasper

Liz Jasper's first novel, Underdead, won the 2008 EPPIE Award for Best Mystery. The sequel, Underdead In Denial, was published the following year to critical acclaim. Since then she has written a YA novel and is currently back to work on her next Underdead book.

Liz lives in California near hiking trails and good public libraries, in a house where chocolate is welcome and the resident cat gets fatter and lazier every year. Why does Liz enjoy writing paranormals? With a career path that has gone from teaching middle school science to economics and finance, writing about blood-sucking demons was only natural.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but found myself wondering why I was supposed to like Jo. She never seems to do anything except react to the other characters who keep the action going.

Liz Jasper really takes the modern vampire and spins it on its head with this book. Her story is unique, original, and a great read. The characters are real, and could easily be people that you are neighbors with. I love the fact that Jo is a science teacher and who wouldn't want a Gavin in their life? It was an excellent paced book. I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to read the next one. I hope that she continues to write more with Jo and Gavin in the future!

I'm a great lover of paranormal stories, so when I came across Underdead I had to give it a try. I'm so pleased I picked this book up. The author has written a wonderful cozy mystery with a twist of romance. I loved the quirky main character Jo. There are laugh out loud moments, an enigmatic vampire and lots of clues to keep you guessing about who's the murderer. I'll definitely be buying the next in the Underdead series. I recommend this to all age groups. The content is suitable for anyone from teens upwards.

If you're looking for a mystery that will also keep you up all night giggling, look no farther than Liz Jasper's first book in her new series. Jo Gartner, the protagonist in "Underdead" goes out on the town and ends up meeting a hot guy in a club. When his neck nuzzling turns into a bite, she discovers the perils of "necking" with vampires.

"Underdead" is a wonderful entry into the paranormal genre, one with laughs to die for.

This book is simply wonderful. Liz Jasper knows how to create characters and pace a story. I particularly liked the skin condition developed by the main character due to ... well, I don't want to spoil anything.
The book is also very funny, but the author doesn't overdo it. Everything is just right here. This is by far the best free e-book I've read. I'm looking forward to "Underdead in Denial."
