Born in the steel city, Jamshedpur, earlier in Bihar, now in Jharkhand, Sudeepta is the only daughter of her parents. After completion of XII from ICSE Board, she did her graduation and master’s degree from Delhi University in Statistics. She also acquired a doctoral degree in Statistics from the same University. She joined the Indian Statistical Service and is presently posted in National Accounts Division of Central Statistics Office in the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation as Deputy Director in the capital state Delhi. She is a Bengali by birth and has tied knot to her classmate cum colleague from the same service belonging to the historic land of Nalanda. At present she is a mother of a 5 year old little girl.
She started her writing as a means to express her own self and to find solutions to life’s problems. She started writing in a cheerful and a fun loving style, and got her articles published in the magazines of the training academies during her training period. Slowly, in due course, some intense and mind-churning ideas imposed its seriousness on her writing technique and she took to writing some grave issues as well. She is at present working on other short and long stories.
