About Sandra Maggs

I was born in a library and raised on literature. From a young age I wrote my own stories and read them to anyone who would listen. After years of hard work and determination, I'm finally dabbling in the world of Indie Publishing and I love it! My favourite genre is fantasy, but I'll give anything a shot.

Love time travel and the way the character travels in this story is a little different.

I liked the little twist at the end too. I would recommend this. A good read for teenagers.

There is definitely an underlying story here. I liked the little twist at the end, although I would have liked the book more if Bess spent more time with her friends.

This book is clearly the beginning of a much bigger story. If you like a good mystery with a twist then you'll enjoy this. I haven't really read anything like it and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

A friend of mine told me about this book and so I read it. It's not the kind of book I normally go for, but surprisingly I loved it. I'm looking forward to continuing the journey with Bess Hooper.

After reading this, I'm hoping that this story plays out until the end. I'd like to know where it's going and after reading the descriptions on the next three books, I'm intrigued.

I like the characters and it's about time someone wrote a series like this with a strong female lead.

Had a great time reading this excellent book

Although aimed at young readers, it’s a great read for older readers too

It kept me interested right from the start, and I was eager to find out what would happen

And it ends with some interesting questions. A great lead in to the next book

This was my first experience of an ebook, and it was a really fun and positive one! This book "The Mystery of the Cornerstone', is a mystery with an historical twist, targeted at the young adult reader. Whilst the first few chapters had a definite Enid Blyton flavour, subsequent chapters develop their own rhythm and move at a interest- holding pace. By the conclusion of the book the fundamental mysteries are resolved (including an unexpected - some might say, jarring - twist) however there remains a hint of a greater mystery to be unravelled - so a second visit to 'Bess Hooper Historical Sleuth' seems in order!!
