Kater Cheek is a graduate of Clarion San Diego, class of 2007.
Kater is the author of the Kit Melbourne series, the Desert Mages series and the hilarious chicken comic Coop de Grace. She is also the author of numerous short stories, some of which have appeared in Fantasy Magazine, Weird Tales, and various anthologies.
Kater is also an artist with more than twenty years of experience, primarily in sculptural and utilitarian art. When not writing, she throws pots, binds books, and plays with molten glass. She has folk danced professionally, taught English in Japan for two years, and spent five months backpacking alone through Europe. She has learned six languages and forgotten four of them. Her garden kicks ass.

Wonderful! Two stories that make you shiver while you're smiling. It's a difficult thing to achieve, but, as the author says in an afterword -
"I also wanted... to hit the difficult middle mark between humor and horror."
Spot on, Ms. Cheek, spot on.
