About S. Elizabeth Calvert

S. Elizabeth Calvert, author, psychic and clairvoyant, lives quietly and happily with her husband, her darling, sweetheart soulmate Byron/Clayton and her two dogs in the Washington, D.C. suburbs.

She is surrounded by echoes and memories of her lifetime during the War Between the States, both good and bad. She wrote this book as a valentine to God, true soulmates, timeless, enduring love and the brave, mispresented Southerners she once knew before. In her own way she has given voice to the voiceless and justice to the misunderstood.

Her family fought for both the North and the South, truly a war between brothers. In fact, one Confederate soldier ancestor endured the 1863 Siege of Vicksburg, Mississippi, paid ten dollars to eat a rat and was thrown into a Yankee prison in New Orleans, Louisiana after the town fell.

When the war ended he refused to say the oath of allegiance to the Federal authorities, walked home from Louisiana to Tennessee barefoot, ragged, penniless and staring, all the while taunted by victorious Union soldier shouting: "We licked you, Reb!" He shouted back: You didn't lick me, Yank!"

He returned to a burned home and his family all killed or scattered. He went west and became a sheriff in Colorado. He would shoot you if you played ' Marching Through Georgia' in his presence since he had witnessed first hand Yankee destruction of the South. He also wore Confederate gray until the day he died.

Civil War era journals, epic love stories, time travel, reincarnation, ghosts and supernatural tales of the war have always fascinated her. She has always wrestled with what ifs. What if one could go back in time, change fate, rewrite karma and alter the outcome of past events, especially saving the life of a loved one? What would happen? An intriguing question, yes?
