Born in Barnet, Hertfordshire in 1958, Andrew Hixson attended Littlegrove in New Barnet, followed by Challoner, which is now Finchley Catholic High School, between 1969-1974. Following the family tradition he worked at Smithfield Meat Market before moving to Suffolk in 1978. He has been happily married for over 30 years to the lovely Julie. Andrew has two daughters Michelle and Louise and three granddaughters, Ava, Summer and Sienna. His interests include football, table tennis, going to the theatre and cinema, ballroom dancing and writing.
Andrew has been writing as long as he can remember. His success began with a position in the final ten of the 2003 writer's forum novel competition with his spy novel Civility and Servitude, which he had published by a vanity publisher in 2004. In 2005 he was commissioned by MI6 website to write seven James Bond short stories for their fan fiction section.
Since then he has worked on numerous writing projects, including a Learning Curve creative writing course which has culminated in Blind Spot, his first novel introducing the lateral thinking consulting detective John Handful. It was completed in March 2014, the day before his brother David, sadly and very suddenly passed away.
