Just like me, Kristina Gallo is not a native English speaker, which, I must be honest, is quite visible in her writing. Her English reads like you might imagine someone speak with a heavy Eastern European accent.
But at the same time, she demonstrates that you don’t always need a perfect command of grammar or syntax to paint a clear picture. With refreshing and imaginative phrasing, she gets her characters across just as well, leaving only the most bitter grammar nazi to die hating.
This book is most enjoyable, the characters alive, the plot dynamic and crisp. Well done.
