Once I had started this book and really immersed myself in it, I was fascinated by it. It might seem mystical, because it takes place in a fictious world, but it actually depicts something that still takes place in the real world, in our societies. This book is about segregation, beauty and ugliness. It shows a realistic (if you leave out the mystical elements) version of what might happen if the word beauty and what we associate with it only is reduced to the outer appearance. It also shows what beauty really should be.
