About Suzan Tusson-McNeil, PCEAF, CPCC, CHWC

In the third grade I began writing stories about make-believe friends and their adventures on the backs of my Dad's business accounting ledgers. I then called my Aunt Myrtle in New Orleans, an executive with Sears Roebuck, and read her my stories. She often said, "Suzan, you have such a gift for writing. You must write some more." So I did...

Later, as a young girl, I observed how my mother did not stand up for herself or me when my father turned violent due to an undiagnosed bipolar condition. Then in my 20's I watched my mother die young, 51, as a brittle diabetic who neglected her self-care. As a result I am now a women's health and well-being advocate.

My passion is helping women learn to put their self-care first as they move powerfully through transitions. We utilize the healing modalities of expressive arts and also life and wellness coaching. (I am certified as an Expressive Arts Facilitator, Life Coach and Health and Wellness Coach). Women at P.L.A.Y! (Peace, Love, and Acceptance of Yourself after 40) shares powerful stories and offers practical tools and resources to strengthen your confidence and resilience. Above all it's a book and workbook which encourages you to shine your light as if you're the sunshine. It's what you do and who you are!

I consider myself to be a life adventurer and have learned the most from the people I've met while traveling. My travels have taken me to such remote places as the Inca Trail in Peru, the Himalayas in Nepal, as well as Kenya, Tanzania, and Egypt in Africa. (a favorite highlight)....My husband and I rode 2000 miles camping throughout east Africa and walked through the Kybera slums in Nairobi to deliver gifts to an orphanage. An avid hiker, I married Jim McNeil on the peak of Mount Whitney (14,495 feet). I would love to hear from you. You can reach me at stussonmcneil@gmail.com or visit my site: www.SuzanTussonMcNeil.com.
