As an old-school author with over a dozen books in print, , I've long been intrigued by the e-book market but unsure of how to break in. A friend recommended this book as a great introduction to the field, and it's been extremely helpful.

Biggest pluses:

It's pithy, direct, and loaded with practical tips from the first page.

It's written in a straightforward conversational style that makes you feel like you're getting advice from an experienced, trusted friend.

The focus is clear and tight throughout, boiling the process of creating your own e-book down to essentials and showing you how to keep things simple so you can efficiently publish in multiple formats and reach the broadest possible audience.

Bottom line: this book has given me the confidence and practical guidance I need to publish to both of the leading e-book platforms: Smashwords and Amazon's Kindle. I found it a quick, informative read and well worth the low cover price.

This was one of the best organized and structured guides for creating and publishing Ebooks that I have seen. I too have visited a number of “self publishing” websites, but have always felt the information provided was incomplete, inaccurate or self-serving. Not only was this guide methodical, with step-by-step instructions, but was particularly thorough and detailed. I especially liked many of the “screen captured” images provided throughout. I noticed, while researching this author’s other Ebooks on Smashwords that he had a number of ways of promoting his work. So, now I’m waiting for the follow-up Ebook from him, having to do with the successful marketing of your Ebook. It seems that with websites, Twitter, Facebook, blogging and other social networks there must be a methodical approach to this as well.

This is a great guide for anyone getting started publishing ebooks. The step-by-step instructions progress logically. They’re clear and accessible (even to someone like me who’s somewhat technologically challenged). The author strategically uses figures to illustrate key points. He addresses differences between Amazon and Smashwords so the reader can avoid frustrating pitfalls when publishing to both sites. I had no idea the process could be simplified and streamlined like this. Highly recommended.

Folded, Mutilated, and Kindled
I am one of millions of victims of information overload. Therefore, when I decide to tackle a new project, the instructions need to be clear, concise, and simple enough to wrap my brain around. 'Ebook Now' was just what the cyber Doc ordered. I have tried (repeatedly) to follow the instructions on Amazon, Smashwords, and various internet sites claiming to offer easy to follow instructions. THEY LIE, and the finished product never looks or works as it should. After following the simple steps in 'Ebook Now' I created great looking files that worked correctly in both Smashwords and Kindle on the first try.
