A Shade Too Dark, A Ben Harper Story

Jamaica inexplicably stops associating with her neighbors. The neighbors don’t know what to do, so they turn to the landlord for assistance in winning back her friendship. And once again, before he can fully get a grasp of what’s going on, Ben Harper finds himself embroiled in another tragic situation that’s just a shade too dark for comedy. This story also appears in The Ben Harper Stories Pt. 3.

About RC Monson

I have been been making a serious study of fiction writing since I was a teenager. Over the years, my stories and poems have appeared on occasion in small press reviews and various local publications. I studied art and literature at the University of New Mexico and San Francisco State University and had plenty of jobs in my time, including work as a retail clerk, bike mechanic, teacher's aid, gallery clerk, rental agent, and garageman. Once I finally had a degree in hand, I found work as a writer, editor, graphic artist, pr specialist, customer service tech, and salesman. At the ripe old age of fifty, I went back to school at the College of Santa Fe to become a high school English teacher. Now in retirement, I finally have time to polish up and publish works that have been accumulating in the filing cabinet for decades. Cheers!
