Goodbye, Pills & Needles: A Total Re-Think of Type II Diabetes. And a 90 Day Cure

Type II diabetes is a massive industry, but terrible medicine. Insulin resistance is not a malfunction to be fixed. It’s the cell’s defense against toxicity from too much glucose uptake. Yet medicine overrides those defenses with drugs, worsening the toxicity, insulin resistance, and heart disease risk. A fresh look at the disease, written by a scientist who has beaten his own type II diabetes. More

About Tom Jelinek

Tom Jelinek earned his PhD in 1993 (McMaster University), studying cellular regulatory processes. He then joined the Cancer Center at the University of Virginia Medical School, where he furthered his studies on the mechanisms of cell signaling. Tom later spent 15 years in a strategic role in biotechnology, where it was essential to keep abreast of all significant research developments.

At age 51, Tom was diagnosed with type II diabetes, but instead of turning to medication, he returned to his roots, asking what went wrong, and why. Instinctively, he cut all carbs from his diet, at first haphazardly, and later adopting a full ketogenic diet. The result was a halving of blood glucose in under a month, and full disappearance of diabetes within three months.

Over the subsequent three years, Tom began to question, dissect, and re-think every aspect of diabetes, principally to assure himself he was on the right track. Along the way, it became clear that medicine misunderstands nearly every aspect of type II diabetes, from its causes, to the true function of insulin, to the development of the natural process of insulin resistance. He presents his findings and experiences in the book, “Goodbye, Pills & Needles: A Total Re-Think of Type II Diabetes. And a 90-Day Cure.”
