I love Thomas Pike's writing almost as much as his imagination, and I have been ridiculously excited to watch his bold transition into kinkier, more taboo subjects. That admiration for his creativity is why I was willing to take a chance on this, a story I might have otherwise been hesitant to read, but one that I am glad I explored.
Pike pairs his beautiful protagonist with a miniature horse, which keeps the action plausible, and makes her cautious of preparation and recovery between adventures, which keeps it safe(er). What really distinguishes this, though, is three things.
First is the narrator/protagonist, a lovely young transsexual woman who is so sweet and bubbly that you cannot help but love her. Second is the love and affection she has for her horse, feelings that do border very closely on romantic. Third is the horse's apparent enthusiasm for their adventures, almost human-like physical responses that demonstrate his response to her affections.
The sex, of course, is incredible, taking full advantage of the size difference to exaggerate the experience. Here, the focus is on creamy (and messy) oral, a sexy give-and-take is sweetly sexual and enthusiastic. Guaranteed to open eyes, certainly, but also likely to leave some smiles behind!
