About Norman Roberts

Dr. Norman Roberts is a retired dentist living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He is an avid reader, a former editor of New Scene Magazine, and author of The Blackjacks. A successful mortgage lender until the 2007 real estate crash, Dr. Roberts returned to investing in the market in August, 2008; and by March, 2009 had suffered an unrealized loss of $650,000. Although he claims no special investing expertise, luck, or insider knowledge, he developed a trading philosophy and trading strategies that converted that loss to a $600,000 gain by March of the following year, a remarkable $1.25 million turn-around. Knowledge he has since shared with friends and family, several of who urged that he write about it and share his knowledge with others. Consequently, he wrote and published The Dividend Investor's Guide in 2011. On March 2, 2016, Dr. Roberts wrote his first article as a Seeking Alpha contributor, exposing what he considered a legal attempt at extortion. He soon became a prolific, although mildly controversial contributor, and rapidly built a large base of followers and soon became the #1 contributor in Seeking Alpha's Dividend Strategy category. Based on his expertise and experience as a cumulative preferred dividend investor and the many articles he has since written on the subject, Dr. Roberts has recently published The Art & Science of Preferred Dividend Investing.

I guess I am old school, and I cannot seem to adjust to this "virtual world" where communication is on a keyboard, and via Email. The personal touch, the conversation is gone.
A book that one can feel, touch, and read is really my cup of tea, and it appears to be disappearing. I suppose that ther are many who whould call me a dinosaur.

I purchased the E book from a company called Smasswords.
I could not download it. So I tried calling someone at the company called Smasswords to help me through the process. There was NO ONE THERE. There was no one to talk to and obtain some help. Immagine my frustration because I was very anxious to read the book.

My frustration turned to anger, so I attempted to appeal for help to the company via the comments venue. It appears that I made hugh error here as well.

I apologize to Dr. Roberts, for I do not have any negative comments about his book. In fact I could not figure out how to down load the book, I did not read it, so I cannot make any comment about this book at all. I was venting out at THE SYSTEM, as I sat in my office staring at a commputer screen I do not understand.

I have total certainty Norman Robert's book is a fine treatise on investing. Since I did not read it, because I cannot figure out how to download it, I repeat it would not be right to make any comments on the work.

As stated it was my ignorance of the process that I was trying to adress.

Over the years I have worked very hard for my money and always thought investing in the stock market was way too risky for a conservative person like myself. After reading this book my outlook has changed completely. For someone like myself who has never trusted Uncle Sam I always knew investing my money in a bank was the worst possible move I could make. After reading this book I have learned several safe and effective ways to earn on average a 10% return on my investment with preferred stocks! Thank you Norman

I worked very hard on my hands and knees laying marble and saved all of my money for over ten years. I used to invest in CDs often loosing money to inflation. I am very conservative and must have a safe strategy if I am going to invest. This book has completely changed my investing strategy. My portfolio consists of mostly preferred stocks yielding an average of 9.75%. I have used leverage to raise my average yield to 14.30%!. I am now making over 14% and my portfolio liquidation value is currently only down .5 percent. Thank god for smashwords, this book, and the author. My life is changed forever!
