About Ian Shane

Ian Shane was born on August 17, 1973 in Evansville, Indiana, to a mechanic and a stay at home mother. He was educated at Indiana University and the University of Southern Indiana. After graduation, Ian spent 11 years working in radio in the Hoosier State, before relocating to the Twin Cities to become a teacher.

Ian published his first novel, Radio Radio in 2008. It took him seven years and many drafts. He loosely based it on his experiences in working in broadcasting, and stories his friends had shared with him. Ian self-published the book; which yielded modest sales, but rave reviews from people in the industry.

Ian has also written three screenplays and a television pilot on spec, a one-act play and a collection of essays about music, which will soon be published. He was also featured in the inaugural issue of Smudge Magazine.

Radio, however, is his first love. He created three Internet radio stations; 3wE (2003), the Voice of Brown College (2006), and I-82 (2013).

Since 2013, he has called Denver his home. Although he grew up a Chicago Cubs fan, he can be found at Coors Field, cheering on the Colorado Rockies in the summer. He also has a love of hockey and college basketball.

Ian’s second novel, Postgraduate, is scheduled to be released April 5, 2019.
