Yesterday's Daughter

What would you do if you were told your life mate was dead and to get on with her life, but you know deep in your heart that you would find her? Well this was Malachi's dilemma for decades. I have to say Malachi is my perfect hero. He is a strong warrior who can be quite brutal in meeting out justice, while at the same time carries his love and tenderness in his heart for Sapphira and never gives up. Meanwhile Grace lives an orphaned life unaware of her true identity and guards her privacy to the point of paranoia trying to deal with the reality of being a vampire alone in the world. The book description / synopsis gives a good overview of the beginning of this story and I will not rehash it. I found the world building for Yesterday's Daughter fascinating and definitely a new take on the concept of vampires and their existence. For me this book had it all; there was sadness, action, joy, and passion. It is my understanding this is the beginning of a series, but it definitely had a satisfying resolution with a teasing possibility of more to come, and I definitely will be on the lookout for the next installment, eager to read the continuing saga. I loved this book, it was beautifully written, and once I started reading it did not want to put it down and would highly recommend it.

I have read a lot of vampire stories lately, and although they are all different in their own ways and I have enjoyed most of them immensely there is just something about Yesterday’s Daughter that makes me want to re-read it immediately.

Unlike most vampire stories you do not find yourself with a strong, confident, all powerful, super being at the start of the story, instead you have Grace, this attractive woman who has escaped from her life in foster care, not knowing where she came from. She is unable to walk in sunlight and has a craving for blood. She suspects she might be a vampire, but refuses to ask for help in fear of being experimented on. When she meets Malachi she finally finds some answers to her questions, including her true identity as Sapphira, as well as some extra questions as to how she came to grow up in the human world.

I am eagerly awaiting the 2nd instalment in this series, and I hope at some point we get to hear of Sapphira’s lost decades.

Such a great book!! Definitely a great story, and I fell in love with the characters! I could just feel Malachi's agony as he finally finds his love and her not knowing who he is. I highly recommend this amazing book.

This is a great story!!! Telling you about Malachi who has been told that his life-mate died, but he is convinced she is still alive and keeps on searching, He does find her in Grace she works at night in the Morgue, she is allergic to sunlight she thinks and hides as well. When Malachi finds her and appears in her apartment, she looks for her hidden weapons but he tells her they are all gone, after awhile she is listening to his story and he gets her to remember things.

A creepy new director in the hospital and her urge to disappear again makes her go with Malachi who she loves more and more, before he can pick her up after her last work day , she is kidnapped by her creepy director. How it goes from there, if Malachi will find her again and they will be happy together, read for yourself. I personally was sad when the story ended, I loved it so much. I hope we will have a follow up!!

Good story. I really liked the dynamics between Malachi & Grace. The book needs a little editing & proofreading but most ebooks need at least some technical work.

I loved this book. I am really looking forward to a sequel (hint,hint). Grace & Malachi are perfect for life mates for each other. I like that I can visualize what is going on in the book. Being able to open a book and have it play out in my head like a movie is the best thing. I could 'see' Grace's little apartment, Malachi/Sapphira's bedroom, the morgue where she worked, etc. That to me is what really gets me into a book and makes me sad when I am coming to the end of it. I love being able to pour my emotions into my reading. Thank you for the treat of being able to read this. Again, looks like the beginning of a wonderful series...

Yesterday's Daughter is the first book in what could be a very promising series! It starts off with the main character, Grace Stone, working in a morgue. Grace is a loner by choice. She grew up in foster homes, never knowing her parents or her history. This makes her skittish around others. Her beauty often attracts attention from everyone, but it is unwanted attention. Grace prefers the night shift and keeps to herself. She also likes to drink blood over other food. Then, one day, a mysterious and handsome stranger, Malachi, appears. Grace Stone finds out that Malachi is the key to her past, present and future.
Initially, Yesterday's Daughter, was a slow read for me. At the beginning, there were a lot of characters introduced and much description of places and people. The author definitely has a strong sense of using language that helps you visualize scenes and characters however, it was almost overkill in the beginning. I would rather read more about Grace Stone's past, growing up in foster homes and how she became the woman she is now. When Grace meets Malachi and learns the true nature of herself, it became a lot more interesting. I enjoyed when Grace AKA Sapphira learns about Malachi being her life mate and all of her powers. I think these two characters will have a lot of interesting adventures in coming books. I look forward to reading more!

This is a great book, I have been telling people about it. It is different to see someone having to find them self in this paranormal romance. It is not often that you find a different kind of vampire book, well that is what you have here. I hope that there are more to come.
