About Travis Lloyd

Since the age of 17, I became interested in writing. My writing teacher Ms. Byrne inspired me to write in her senior class. I was a person who I identified as a loner. I did not have a lot of friends and at that time, I was always intrigued to simply fit in with everyone else. I was not a jock, but rather a scholar in my academic life. I had opportunities to join chess club, but I declined since I felt I would be judged for making that decision instead of a physical sport. Ms. Byrne's class became a safe haven for me to write. I remember over spring break my senior year at Nicolet High School, Ms. Byrne insisted that I write over the spring break. She was impressed by my creativity and organization of my ideas and concepts on paper. I followed her advice and I became indulged in the idea that I did have a strength, better yet a gift that I would create with my words on paper. The last thing that my teacher ever said to me was written in my yearbook was..."Denzel, Keep Writing!" I follow her advice to this day and to that I thank you Ms.Byrne! I have been an active writer for almost ten years now because of her words to me when I graduated.
