Adria Amos is both a poet and freelance writer. In addition to her book, "Shadow Puppets," you can find her poetry in the tenth anniversary issue of "Quercus Review". In 2011, she was awarded third place in the Libba Moore Gray Award for Poetry. She has also received second place in the Knickerbocker Prize for Poetry in 2006 and honorable mention in the Bain-Swiggett Prize for Poetry in Traditional Forms in 2007. Knoxville readers can find her freelance work in the newspaper "Knoxville News Sentinel", where she is the west Knox columnist.
After growing up in a tiny farming community in Indiana, Adria moved to California's Central Coast two months after high school graduation to be with her wonderful husband. Adria, her husband, and their two amazing children have called Knoxville home since 2003, and she is thankful to be close enough to visit her extended family regularly. She has been a member of the Knoxville Writers' Guild since shortly after graduating with honors from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in December 2008. Currently, she is on the Guild's Board of Directors and serves as its Publicist.
