About DL Edison

America’s Best, Least Known Author

I live in the shadow of Mount St. Helens, near the mouth of the mighty Columbia River. I graduated from Washington State with a degree in Communication -Go Cougs! As a young reader (once I got past Dr. Seuss & the Hardy Boys) I devoured everything by S.E. Hinton, most more than a few times. These days I stick to reading American Classics: London, Hemingway, Vonnegut, Frost.

Five years ago I dropped out of the “real world” and began writing fiction. And writing. And reading. Straight out of college I feared I wouldn’t be taken seriously as an author. Decades later I got smart and realized, nobody else mattered, I only had to convince myself. So I did what everyone that I ever met in corporate America wants to do (and highly unlikely will ever do), I flipped off conformity and began living a dynamic life. I promised myself, never again would I sit in a stale conference room, on any random Tuesday morning, discussing an engineering project for which I had no passion. I was never again going to do what I don’t want to do, I would never again waste my precious time. And today I do. Today I have abundant passion in my life fueled by 26 letters and my imagination. Today I write.

I describe my writing as philosophical pop fiction. My goal, my compulsion in writing, is to stir emotion and inspire introspection, to spark awareness while delivering a positive message. I write to crack myself up. I hope you get the humor, it’s there. If you don’t, check your pulse -I swear I’m hilarious. I write with depth and weight and scribe what I need to say, not so much what the masses want to read.

In addition to American classics, also these days I prefer pets to people: dogs, goldfish…
