I enjoyed reading Demon Slave. It incorporated much of the main characters from Demon Possession, but is mainly the story of Marik and Nadau (Analia’s sister).

In this story Marik is captured, he breaks out, kidnaps and saves the life of the local’s queen, discovers she is the person he is looking for, fights the horrors of his past, falls for the girl, accidently breaks an old demon law, fights for his future and fights for the woman he loves.

Nadau has lived the last 400 years not being able to have any physical contact because the Cyrellian’s skin is so cold it burns her skin and hers burns theirs. While living hundreds of years safe and sound the King dies and bestowed the position of Queen on Nadau until the rightful queen becomes old enough to rule. She is mostly successful except for those who want to overthrow her. When she meets up with Marik she has so many new feelings and she doesn’t know if it is because she hasn’t had physical contact for the last 400 years or something deeper. She fights these feelings for most of the book. She discovers that she had been betrayed, deceived, heartbroken, adjusts to her gift becoming more prevalent and is just trying to stay alive after the attack on her life and what is in store for her future.

The story flows really well even though the POV skips character to character. There is one instance where something happens between Sonya and Ethan and I feel like you are left wanting an explanation that never fully comes. There are a few other tidbits that leave you wondering but nothing like Sonya and Ethan.

4.5 stars. Maybe not as good as the first book, but great none the less. Can't wait to read the third book, and I can say I have high expectations for it.
