bankers foreclose on it, leaving them nowhere to live except their old car. They venture towards California, and their faith is tested as they face difficult trials.

About John Lifflander

John Lifflander is a Christian and secular author. He teaches the Bible at, and is the author of several Christian books, including "Journey in the Great Depression, which is historical fiction, aimed at children.

He is also a published author whose credits in the secular realm include "The Fundamentals of Industrial Valuation," published by IAAO, Chicago 2007, as well as other publications.

Mr. Lifflander also wrote, produced and directed "The Audition," a feature length drama. He is a former administrative law judge for the State of Oregon.

This is an excellent short story and would appeal to Young adult audiences. There is a positive christian lesson in every chapter. It has a quick pace to it and an exciting plot.

Historical fiction particularly good for YA audiences. Gives a historically accurate picture of life in the Great Depression from a Christian viewpoint, with a compelling plot line and realistic, sympathetic characters. A page turner that will stay with the reader.
