Born in Ipswich Massachusetts, Karen ran away to join the Peace Corps with her husband and children, and spent 8 years in Southern Africa; then moved to Western Australia where she operates Quenda Books, which publishes the “Scoot, Scoot, Bandicoot ® series. A prolific short-story writer, her pieces have been published in a number of magazines both in the USA and abroad. She also wrote grade school reading books for the Ministry of Education in Swaziland, and a number of radio scripts for the Ministry of Education in Lesotho, as well as working on several southern African publications including "Swaziland Today". She has worked in a variety of jobs on three continents, including as a journalist, advertising consultant, union organizer and research officer for a Member of Parliament.
Karen has reviewed books for the mystery website “NewMysteryReader.com” for many years, which gives her a window into what's going on in the crime fiction market. She reads several hundred crime novels each year. She believes that many readers, particularly older women, don't want to buy or read gore-and-sadism books, and still bemoan the passing of Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh. She’s hoping to help fill the niche with the "Bones" series featuring antique-shop proprietor Geneva Bradford. The first volume, "Bitter Bones" will be published in February 2010 by FIDO, with, it is hoped, "Long Bones" and "Blessed Bones" to follow.

I enjoyed this mystery very much. Good story. Thought the villain was somewhat one-sided, and that one of the characters the author found sympathetic was really a villain, (won't say why, as it might be a spoiler)but still a good story.
