Nan Willard Cappo's first novel was CHEATING LESSONS (Simon & Schuster/Atheneum), an Edgar Award nominee for best Young Adult Mystery, Junior Library Guild selection, and an ALA Popular Paperback for Young Adults. She likes to write about ordinary people forced to make extraordinary choices--if the choices are dangerous, even better. UNACCOUNTED FOR was plotted during long drives through southeast Michigan for her day job, selling education materials to schools. Like Hemingway, she took a few liberties with the state's geography (usually by accident) and hopes sharp-eyed readers will excuse this.

This book is one of the better teen books I have read recently. I liked the setting and small town feel in the book, and Milo, the main character. The unique scenario helped to keep my interest and really liked the honest, wholesome feel of the entire book. Would recommend.
