About Prudence MacLeod

I live on a small island just off a larger island off the coast of North America where I write romance, sci-fi, and fantasy/adventure for a wider audience.

What's my super power? I'm a storyteller, an entertainer. As you begin to read my words the stress of the day, nay, the stress of everyday, begins to magically fade away. Transported into another world, your worries and troubles are forgotten for a time as you share adventures with me and my friends. My art, my power is as old as humankind, for the magic of the storyteller has ever been with us and it will always be.

I am a spiritual seeker, dog trainer, official Reiki Master and Interior designer, who has turned her hand to writing. I am also an avid chess player, not a great one, but an avid one. I bake, I build, I knit, and I tell great stories.

I have roamed far and wide for over sixty years in this realm, and I have seen much; some I wish I had not, and a great deal that I would love to see again. Some days I feel like Bilbo Baggins, for I have been there and come back again.

No, I haven't written a book about my wanderings, at least not yet, but much I have experienced, observed, learned, surmised, or imagined, is woven into the tales I have written.

Folks, if you take the time to write a review for me, please leave me a way to contact you so I can thank you properly. If you prefer to remain anonymous, then let me thank you right now. Thanks!!

I decided to read this book because I was in the mood for an easy read and thought a romance might fit the bill.
This book centres around two main characters being Calan and Angela. Calan is a survivor from earlier life of physical abuse who has gone on to achieve success financially and also in her sport of power lifting. Angela is a uni student just finishing up a degree in psychology. This story is about how they met, how their relationship develops and how Calan overcomes her inability to reciprocate love. Personally I failed to connect with this story as I found the storyline a little unbelievable in parts. I feel it would have benefited had the characters had a little more depth to them. But if you wanted to escape for a while it was a pleasant enough read.

This was definitely my favorite so far, but only by a little bit. You created a wonderful support system in this story for abused women, and showed them how to love life again. I think people who have never been victims don't understand how worthless a person can feel after being raped or habitually abused. The strength to not only get on with your life, but to rediscover your love of life as well, is the main theme I got out of this story. I had to read it twice in the last two days, just to relive the moments of such tender love and happiness shining throughout the story. Thank you for sharing such intimate parts of your life with us! You have helped at least one person;-)

This book has it all; you laugh, cry, love, and then love even more. You can't help loving these characters and feeling their fears, hopes, dreams, and above all, love. I was completely enraptured from the moment I started reading until I regretfully finished. It thrills me that this is just the first book in a series of five. You could make a whole quote book with all of the poignant quotes that are tastefully scattered within these pages. I found myself highlighting sentences and paragraphs regularly. This book is SO worth reading! Thank you very much for the wonderful stories!
