Third Edition, January 2014
This is the third edition of American Girl. In this edition, I removed the paranormal plot line to better trace Rafia’s emotional transformation from her shameful experience at Veronica’s party. It seemed dishonest to attribute all of her character arc to some sort of paranormal event. I imagine anyone who has been sexually betrayed by a false friend would sexualize the experience just as Rafia does to cope. I hope this edition is a more convincing journey.
