WHAT IS A VISION?
In Joel 2:28 & 29 God spoke through the prophet declaring what would happen in the future, “And afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out My Spirit in those days.” We have already taken a look at what prophecies are and we all know what dreams are, but what are visions? If someone told you they saw a vision from the Lord, would you picture a scene like Saul on the road to Damascus? The vision he saw was so brilliant that he fell down and was blinded. Although I believe I have seen visions from God, none of them have been that dramatic.
I would like to suggest that most visions people see are not seen with their physical eyes; but, rather, with their mental eye. Let me put it this way: You are seeing the words on this screen with your physical eyes; but when you were reading about Saul on the road to Damascus, you pictured that scene with your mental eye.
