The trees that stood tall and magnificent during the day became looming and terrifying during the night to most people. But not to me, I was a wolf on a mission. The full moon long had forcibly turned me into a werewolf and I intended to fully utilize my increased strength and speed. There was little in the forest that could stop a determined werewolf for long. I leapt and bounded through the trees, using their trunks and branches as trampolines. Using my reflexes and muscles well, I propelled myself forward with burst after burst of well-timed explosive power.
It was dark as night could be, but the light of the full moon coupled with my enhanced night vision as a werewolf made it almost as clear as day to me. From the tiny ant crawling on the branch forty-two feet in front of me to the annoying chirps of the cicada that sounded a mating call fifty-three feet away; I saw everything and heard everything. But most importantly, I felt that Julian, my vampire lover was hanging in there, safe in my arms.
