Andre Williams and his wife Michelle sat inside the lobby of Memphis’ Peabody Hotel drinking Bloody Marys and watching the ducks march by. The couple was in town on business. Andre and Michelle had first met some years back in law school, but didn’t start dating until five or six years later, reconnecting after both landing jobs at a high profile Atlanta firm. Andre had always been interested in Michelle, but was far too busy in law school for any sort of relationship. Things changed in Atlanta, however. Their schedules were still hectic, but the two soon found themselves spending time with one another after work hours. It wasn’t long before they were sneaking off for weekend trysts, leaving the city and fucking for hours in remote hotel rooms. Both Michelle and Andre savored this time together, but it wasn’t too long until the rumor mill got running at work.
Michelle wasn’t much bothered by it, but Andre was raised in a conservative, Southern Baptist family. It wasn’t much time until he started throwing around the word “marriage.” Michelle loved Andre. He was handsome, intelligent, and the fact that he was also a well-paid lawyer didn’t hurt anything. Michelle’s main problem with getting married was the whole monogamy thing. Michelle had an enormous sex drive, and didn’t want to give up sleeping with other people, especially other women. After careful consideration, however, she decided that she really was in love with Andre, and was ready to get married, but only if she had some leeway to have her own female lovers on the side. When Michelle let Andre know about this, he wasn’t sure how to respond. He told her he needed a while to think about everything. A few days later, Andre brought the topic back up, and offered an innovative solution.
