One look around the packed parking lot, and my nerves were on edge again. My eighteenth birthday was yesterday, and as promised my parents had allowed me come to New York for the summer to stay with my older sister. She’d assured them that she would help me find a job, and make me work and pay my share of the bills while I lived with her, but I had no idea until now that this is what she’d meant.
“So…you’re really a stripper?” I whispered as the cabby pulled along the curb, inching us closer to the strip club.
“I told you Mandy…I’ve gotta do what I’ve gotta do out here.”
“Mom and Dad…?”
“They don’t know, and they won’t know unless you go blabbing to them...”
