We Never Once Fell

My mother died from a fall out of a tree, trying to take a slice of salmon up to a young eagle exhausted by harassing crows. That's when things started to go wrong.

I was late to work for the third time this week. The staff elevator stopped on every floor before reaching the restaurant on the top of the hotel. Showering being out of the question, I peeled off my cycling clothes and put on my white shirt and black pants after a quick wipe down and a smidge of deodorant.
