This book is dedicated to my wife, Brenda, who supported (and still does!) this dream.

Until I set out to write a novel of my own, I can honestly say that with very few exceptions, I never bothered reading an acknowledgement page in any of the countless books I’ve read. Spending nearly every night and weekend writing and racking my brain to figure out why a character did this or how a character would react to an event has given me an entirely new appreciation for the value of this page. Writing is really not something that can be done in 30 minute blocks of time (at least not for me) and when I shut myself into my “writing space”, I promptly transform into a short tempered pain in the butt. It seemed like every time I was on the verge of figuring something out, somebody would need to ask me a question and I would have to start all over from the beginning. Further, putting up with somebody whose thoughts are constantly elsewhere cannot be easy and I thank my wife, family and coworkers from the bottom of my heart for their boundless patience.
