What's in the Cooler, Mister?
A Short Dark Fantasy Tale
A. E. Mableson
August Witherspoon’s life changed when his dog drug a human head home late one night.
August’s dog was always bringing dead things home to roll in. The morning that the dog brought a head home was the last straw. Then he listened in horror as the head began to talk to him.
Promising riches if he rejoined the head to its body, August put the head in a cooler and took it on a bus ride. It went well until a little girl’s persistent curiosity led her to look in the cooler. She was not happy about the result.
The short story collections Five Tales for the Campfire - Volume 2 and Ten Tales for the Campfire include this dark fantasy horror story.
