Daria sat alone in the dimly lit corridor of the sound stage with her arms on her knees and her head in her hands. The long nights were beginning to get to her. She could feel the weariness encompassing her entire being. Her body felt airy, light, rubbery, and so weak she could barely lift a finger to wipe away the sleep from her eyes.
She had fallen asleep in every couch, in every studio, in every major city over the past six months, and just when she thought they were finished she found herself again, wandering through a strange town, in a strange building, waiting. Waiting for the night to end.
She heard the thumping coming from behind the walls. In any other situation the bump, bump, bump, would be scary. This was her own personal nightmare. Ghostly tapings, horrific wailings—here it was only a signal that vigil was nowhere near finished. When the pounding stopped, so did her nightmare.
