Laid to Rest
A short from the Theatre Mystery series of novels
Murder in the Second Row and Body on the Stage
‘Hi guys, welcome to Whetford and the Regent Theatre.’
The three young men from the touring Shakespeare Company looked round appreciatively at their plush surroundings.
‘Wow, this is a real theatre, isn’t it?’
From where they stood at the back of the upper circle, tiers of ornate gold seats backs ranged down to the red-velvet-covered curve of the balcony edge. At the far end of the auditorium crimson velvet curtains closed off the stage, framed by the gleaming gold and green columns of the proscenium arch.
