Taylor O'Neal straightened her suit jacket, smoothed a hand over her straight black hair, shrugged her shoulders back and strode confidently through the door into the elegant office of Alan LaMotto, Hollywood's premiere talent agent for A-list film stars. The big man himself was seated behind a polished mahogany desk, tapping his teeth with a pen as he studied the screen of the laptop in front of him.
After a moment, his hazel eyes flicked over her blankly, a faint look of confusion clouding his angular features.
"Who the hell are you?" he asked without preamble.
Taylor blinked at him, but recovered almost instantly.
"Taylor O'Neal," she said. "I'm here to interview for the job as your personal assistant. I'm scheduled for a five p.m. appointment."
