Cold spring rain, green Earth
Grass grows thick under the ash
Summer’s promise kept

Cool rain falls on pines
Gray sky angry with thunder
Cardinal eats popcorn

Buried deep, cool soil
Sleep, sleep in dark silence still
Robin gathers sticks

Sun steams morning dew
Clouds force their agenda still
Trees shower their seed

Stream carves its slow bend
Minnows dart from rock to rock
Gnat screams in my ear
