The subject of History, as it is taught in schools is often a tedious process of memorization of meaningless names and dates. This bare, impersonal information, void of any associations might stay until examination day if a student is lucky. Often confusion sets in before test time resulting in a poor grade or in most cases is lost not only on or after testing. Then the subject is lost forever mainly due to the student's lack of association with the historical incident.

With this unfortunate situation usually being the norm in schools, I have set out to revise the way we learn history by placing the reader into that specific time and place by following the exploits and adventures of a famous unforgettable character.

Through sensory description and emotional affect a reader will become sympathetic to the character's reaction as well as his imaging thus drawing the reader into the story, the time, the place and the period. Being totally immersed into the character's reactions, it is my theory that the time and place and historical era or event will then become memorable, meaningful as well as unforgettable.
