"Where are we going, Chris?"
I asked my girlfriend, as we walked deeper into the woods. We had originally been on a hiking trail through a tropical forest. But at one point, Chris decided she wanted to head off the beaten trail and into more secluded areas. Admittedly, I was a bit afraid that we might get lost, but she seemed determined, as if she had a destination in mind for the two of us.
"You'll see. Don't worry about it for now."
We walked further and further, until finally we reached a clearing.
It was a beautiful place, with small waterfalls adorning grassy green shrubbery. Definitely worth walking this far off the trail. Chris must've been here before, because instead of enjoying the sights, she immediately set down her bag and started rummaging through it. She wouldn't tell me what was inside it, so I had assumed it contained snacks or spare clothes. When she then proceeded to pull out a pair of fuzzy handcuffs, I was understandably more than a bit startled.
"Come here, Nancy."
She was beckoning to me from beside a tree with large overhanging branches. Branches that were ideal for handcuffing my wrists over, so that they'd lock my arms up above my head. She was also smiling rather cutely and innocently, as if it was only natural for me to go over there and let her handcuff me.
"...I don't think so. Chris, what is wrong with you? Is this what you brought me all the way out here for?"
