Chapter One

Walking on the dirt road in high heels was no easy feat, even for Kate, and she spent most of her days in heels. Days being, of course, your typical everyday kind. Get up. Go to work. Go home. Go out to eat if lucky. If her feet hurt at least she could change shoes at some point in between. Changing shoes to Kate meant a change of heels. Flats weren’t really an option for her, especially at work. Working in advertising, looking good was part and parcel of her job. And Kate liked to look good. People paid attention to her. Men liked how she looked, generally wondering how she would look without her clothes. Women on the other hand looked at her clothes, her shoes, her makeup and how her hair was styled on that particular day.
