Betty Butter

Betty Butter was in her garden pulling weeds. It was still mid-morning and Betty had eaten breakfast barely an hour ago, but her tummy rumbled like a thundercloud.

“Oh, dear,” Betty said, “I’m pretty sure I’m hungry again; I just don’t know for what.” She looked around at her garden and felt her mouth water. “I could eat my entire garden right now!”

Then she spied the deep green pods of her butter beans. “Mm, those look so delicious. I know! I’ll make Butter Bean Soup. I’m going to need butter beans, some herbs for flavor, and LOTS of fresh butter. Because, you know,” she said to her plants, “everything’s better with fresh butter.”
