A haze of heat wafted above the ground, the air rippling and distorting the distant posts at the end of the field.

Andy squinted, furrowing his brow and trying to appear as manly and ferocious as he could. Through the heat distortions, he could see the line of adversaries. They wore a motley array of colors unbefitting even the most disorganized barbarian horde.

Their clothes was no match for the rippling abs displayed on the front of Andy’s shirt. His mom had bought it for him at a yard sale, and it was a full size too big for his scrawny arms and shoulders. But still, he could feel the strength the shirt imparted him.

“Red Rover, Red Rover, we call Andy over!” The shrill voices of the barbarians at the other line called.
