The Monday Rebellion

MONDAY’S CHILD was, indeed, fair of face. Outside and in. His smile was radiant, his deep brown eyes serene and his skin lightly tanned. His curly hair blew in the wind like the answer to so many questions.

He leant his hand against a giant ash tree. Its bark, roughly ridged in raised greenish grey diamonds, felt reassuring and filled him with confidence. ‘If today is the end of days,’ he told the tree. ‘It’s a beautiful day to end upon.’
