pain vibrated through my body as I was continuously kicked in the
back. I stayed quiet taking the pain as if I couldn't feel it knowing
that if I so much as whimper he would hurt Nathan and I just can't
let that happen.
"I told you that by the time I got home, you better have dinner ready, dammit!" he spat, his strong leg pushing down on my swollen legs.
"I’m sorry, baby, I promise I'll be better tomorrow” I pleaded to him through bloody swollen lips. It didn’t matter what I said nor did, he always found a way to be mad at me.
"You better or that thing," he sneered, drunkenly pointing at Nathan "Gets it. Now go clean yourself up, you look a mess!"
He carelessly kicked my leg as he walked over to the sofa, turning the TV on nonchalantly as if nothing had even happened. Not wasting any time, I scrambled to the bathroom, letting the tears run as I soothed my blotted abdomen.
"Its okay Nathan, Daddy's just having one of his days. It'll be okay once you get here," I cooed to my unborn son.
I don't want to be lying to my Nathan but life with my husband is never predictable.
